employee survey score of 38.57. Harrah's Philadelphia in Chester, PA had

The Valley Forge Casino Resort has named a gaming veteran as its new leader. James A. Rigot has been named the president and CEO of the King of Prussia, Pa.-based casino after serving in key roles at Harrah's, Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino, Foxwoods Resort Casino, Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa, and Parx.

Slot Machines In PA Airports Proposed

House Gaming Oversight Committee Chairman Nick Kotik, D-Allegheny, announced Wednesday the introduction of House Bill 1408. If passed by the House and Senate during the 2015-16 session and signed into law by the governor, the measure would permit slot machines at Pennsylvania's six international airports: Lehigh Valley, Philadelphia, Wilkes-Barre / Scranton, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh and Erie.

Mike Bowman is leaving his position as president and CEO of the King of Prussia, Pa.-based casino-resort to become president of the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board, where he is currently serving as chairman and interim president. His role is effective June 15.

PA Casinos Seek Changes In Law To Boost Competitiveness

PA casino operators sent a letter to PA state legislators seeking changes they say would make the gaming industry more competitive in an era of increased competition from contiguous states. The operators said it is “imperative that the General Assembly only take such actions that will protect the commonwealth’s casinos from further competition and increase the attractiveness of the commonwealth casinos to both in- and out-of-state gaming patrons alike.”

PA Gaming Control Board Awards Second
Philadelphia License To Stadium Casino LLP

The award, made unanimously by the seven-member Board at a public
meeting at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, is the
fifth and last award of a Category 2 stand-alone casino license permitted
under the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act, which
further stipulated that this facility must be located in Philadelphia.

2013-2014 Annual Report Released By Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board

The report includes statistical charts on gaming revenue and employment statewide along with similar statistics for each of the twelve casinos in operation. The report also lists a log of all meetings held during the fiscal year, revenue and expenditures for the agency, reports from all of the PGCB’s key bureaus, and messages from Chairman William H. Ryan, Jr. and Executive Director Kevin O’Toole.

At Mount Airy Casino Resort

Guy Fieri's Mt. Pocono Kitchen recently opened in the Mount Airy Casino
Resort in Mount Pocono. The 5,000-square-foot restaurant is housed
on the casino level and is open 24 hours a day.

Fans know Fieri for his spiky hair and Food Network shows including

Gaming and Leisure Properties Announces Acquisition of The Meadows Casino

Gaming and Leisure Properties, Inc. (Nasdaq:GLPI) announced that
it has entered into an agreement to acquire The Meadows Casino
located in Washington, PA, from Cannery Casino Resorts, LLC. The
180,000 square foot casino contains 3,317 slot machines, 61 table
games and 14 poker tables. The property also includes 11 casual and
fine dining restaurants, bars and lounges, a 24-lane bowling alley and
a 5/8 mile racetrack with a 500-seat grandstand.

Pennsylvania Legislators Will Explore The Authorization Of Online Gambling

A report, prepared by Econsult Solutions Inc., predicted that the
introduction of Internet gambling could produce up to $68 million in tax
revenue the first year and as much as $110 million annually after that

Parx Considering Mobile Gaming Option

The Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment INC group, parent company
of Parx Casino in Bensalem, is considering offering gambling options
via tablets and smartphones. A Bluetooth system would be used and

The company today issued a news release saying it "doubles down"
on Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem and named Mark Juliano as the

MTR Gaming Group Agrees To Merger

MTR Gaming Group, the owner of the Presque Isle Downs & Casino in
Erie, PA and casinos in Ohio and West Virginia has agreed to a merger
with Eldorado Resorts LLC which owns casinos in Nevada and
Louisiana. The deal is expected to close in the middle of 2014 and
the combined company will be named Eldorado Resorts Inc.
